Lisa Smith is the founding, managing and creative director of solstreet, a place to sit, charge and discover. A Pratt Institute Industrial Design graduate, Lisa designed for office furniture companies such as Steelcase, Haworth and many others. Seating is her first love and she sees the solstreet bench as a tall chair with a solar sail and a message board for communities around the world.

Smith holds several U.S. and international design and utility patents. She has lectured on design for numerous educational and corporate sponsors. Her work has been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum, MOMA, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institute and more. Smith’s tabletop designs for Nambé and others are sold in museum stores worldwide.
