Victoria Milne is principal of 6¢ Design. Her firm improves the public sphere through design. Current projects include directing the Times Square Design Lab which commissions furniture from NYC designers for the Times Square Alliance, and a placemaking project for the Local Development Corporation of East New York. She teaches at Parson’s New School in the Master’s program for Industrial Design. Prior to 6¢ she served as Director of Public Art and Design Initiatives at the NYC Department of Design and Construction where she started the Built/NYC program, commissioning custom furnishings from independent designers for public capital projects. Other work areas included developing and implementing design policy programs, including Government x Design, Active Design and Design Excellence. Her studio and public art teams managed a $10 million+ portfolio of art commissions and delivered design projects in all media. She is currently on the NYCxDesign executive committee. Before public service she was a contributing editor at Dwell and Blueprint among other publications. She has a masters’ degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute and a BA from Vassar College.
