Wendy Goodman is a leader in the international design community, and has been New York magazine’s Design Editor since 2007. Over the course of her career she has defined trends, discovered new talent, and worked with the best designers, architects, and photographers. She regularly hosts talks on design, at venues ranging from the 92nd Street Y to the Museum of the City of New York, and has appeared on NBC’s Open House, Good Morning America, Ellen’s Design Challenge, The Insider, NY1, and WNYC, among other outlets. As design editor, Goodman is responsible for New York’s twice-annual design issues and regular “Design Hunting” features in print and online.

Goodman previously worked as New York’s interior design editor (from 1997 – 2007), and fashion editor (1984 – 1989). Before re-joining New York magazine in 1997, Goodman was the style director at Harper’s Bazaar under Liz Tilberis, producing and writing style, interior design and architecture stories.

Prior to her work at Bazaar, Goodman covered the world of style and fashion for House and Garden, tracking fashion designers and artists at home and traveling to the Paris, Milan and New York shows. Goodman’s career began in fashion at Harper’s Bazaar, from which she went on to the New York Times Magazine where she wrote and produced fashion pages.

Goodman is the author of May I Come In?: Discovering the World in Other People's Houses (Abrams, 2018), The World of Gloria Vanderbilt(Abrams, 2010), and co-author, with Hutton Wilkinson, of Tony Duquette (Abrams, 2007).

Goodman lives in the Village and was born and raised in New York.
